Retirement of Ms O'Donnell

Ms O Donnell has been a member of the Mount Anville Community since 1987 and has decided to retire this summer. She has a passion for the ethos of the Sacred Heart and what it represents. This has penetrated throughout the school and into the heart of many pupils that have passed through the doors of Mount Anville.

Extra Curricular Classes 2013-2014

Registration for Extra Curricular Classes for 2013/2014 will be held on 9th May from 3pm - 4pm and from 7.30pm - 8.30pm in the Junior G.P. Room. The facilitator of each Extra Curricular activity will be present.

After School Sports Programme 2013-2014

Mount Anville Montessori Junior school will develop an After-School Sports Programme from 3pm to 4pm for 3^rd class to 6^th class for the new academic year. Each class level will be allocated a school day.

6th Class "Lions" team win final of Leinster Junior & Primary Schools Hockey

Congratulations to our 6th class "Lions" hockey team who won the final of the Leinster Junior and Primary Schools Hockey on Wednesday 20th March at 1pm in UCD. The final score was Mount Anville 3 - Rathdown 1.

We wish Ms Beatty's 6th class well tomorrow Saturday 12th January at RDS Primary Science Fair where they will present their project "How does our daily routine affect our eyesight?" If you are going to the RDS do go along and visit the stand and support the girls who have worked so hard.

The Crocus Project

Fifth class are taking part in The Crocus Project. The Crocus Project was launched in Ireland in 2005 by HETI. It is intended for pupils aged 11 years and older. HETI gives schools yellow crocus bulbs to plant in memory of the one and half million Jewish children, and thousands of other children, who died in the Holocaust.

"Jack Frost" - 4th Class

This year 4th class did the play "Jack Frost". Both classes were included in the play. It all started when a little sunbeam was naughty.

Carol Singing in Dundrum

On the 10th of December, 2012, our school choir, from 5th and 6th class went to sing Christmas carols in Dundrum shopping centre.

The Wizard of Oz - 5th & 6th Class

The Wizard of Oz was the play 5th and 6th class performed on the 4th and 5th December in the Senior School Hall. It was so much fun to perform it for our family and friends. We really enjoyed the rehearsals, wearing the costumes and getting the make up on.

Christmas Charity

This year the two fifth classes contributed to the "Heart to Hand" Charity - a very worthy charity which was set up to cater for the needs of the poor people in countries such as Albania, Bosnia, Moldova and Romania.

Visit of Marita Conlon-McKenna

On 24th October Marita Conlon-McKenna came on a visit to our school. As author of the month she came in and talked to 5th and 6th class. Marita told us that "Under the Hawthorn Tree" was her first book published for her eldest daughter Amanda.

Friendsip Week in the Pre-Montessori Class

Our Pre-Montessori class were very busy this week decorating our beautiful new classroom. Each child made a little man or a little lady to create a colourful rainbow of friends to celebrate Friendship Week.

Ms Cruite's 4th class started reading buddies with Ms McCullough's 2nd class. We all have partners that we read with. We read a book with our buddies.

Friendship Week 15th - 19th October 2012

5A have put together a poster of an individual fish. We each got one fish and put one quality on it. We also made one big fish, each doing one scale, decorating and putting our qualities of a friend on it. It shows that 5A is one big family.

Leinster Hockey Blitz

On Friday 12th October the 6th class hockey team went to Alexandra College for a hockey blitz. We were split into two teams - Mount Anville Tigers and Mount Anville Lions. One team played five matches and the other played four. The matches were all 8 minutes long. We played lots of different schools.
